Never give up!

I took this picture and it just seems that it should bring an inspirational quote with it.....

Never give up, if you try hard enough, you will reach success!

Bead soup cafe

I am so excited to be taking place in the 8 th Annual Bead Soup blog exchange.  The designers are matched up with a partner and they send the other one a mixed bag of jewels and findings and you have to create pieces from what was sent...you can add to it, but there are basic rules that must be followed.  I think this will be a very exciting challenge and room to grow as a Jewelry Designer.  As busy as I may be, I need to challenge myself to new heights to help me grow as a person and in the field.

Please use the posted address on the right to view the blog...

I want to encourage all my followers to watch as we reveal our packages and creations, with a blog hop to follow.

I have not mentioned this new endeavor to my husband but I am hoping his blessing will give me the encouragement to create  beyond my limits.

To all my students, I truly want you to follow and participate in viewing the blog on the published date.  I will probably have a drawing for something glitzy and fun!  Also subscribe to the facebook group and you will see when new pieces are designed.

P.S.  This is my first piece of professional jewelry designed and worked by me! Seems like that was so long ago!

With regards,
as always

Change is good

As we  roll into week 3 of 2014, we need to take a look at our life and re evaluate.  We need to be healthy, we need to be happy (both very important) and surely we need to be wise.  Wise you say...wise to safety, scams, and all the issues facing us each day.

Be a better person.  Be the one to say "Good Morning", "Are you feeling ok", "Can I do Something to help you"

Make changes, positive, motivated and self impacting...change, it what's for life in 2014!

I can see change in my art work, not planned but it is reflected in my pieces.  Change is good, we grow as a person with change.  Happy new year, hope it is  happy.

Call me for a change

2014 Album opening page

"Welcome 2014"

It finally dawned on me about 3 years ago to start my scrapbook on New years day...getting all my days into one book, starting like a calendar!  It totally makes things more logical.  So this is my opening page for my new album.

I started with Gecko Galz  HAPPY NEW YEAR BABY and VINTAGE CARD TOP ephemera.  I found some pretty paper in my stash, this was Cosmo Cricket, Love notes.

I also pulled some tones of beige to brown, including some craft paper.  This was really a challenge to me as I usually like a lot of color.  I cut my main page to 11x11 so I could use a lighter tone to frame it.  I double mounted the ephemera, inked all the edges with Antique Linen, including the paper frame.  I cut images that were reflective of the ephemera and added a glass for CHEERS.  I took the numbers that came off the clock and used them for my year.  I layered all the pieces giving balance and symmetry to the images and the colors.

Fun tags

This months Ephemera has me playing like a school girl...I used images from Retro Fashions and Nouveau Art and started to make tags that I can give as gifts or put on my Christmas gifts...I had so much fun doing this.

I used assorted pre made tags and also cut a few with my Cricut.  I found an old Sizzix die and cut a dress pattern in several different patterns.  I also cut a few "dress forms"...love them also, don't understand why, but I really like playing with them.  If you don't have anything premade o cut a dress pattern, it is really easy to make your own, and cut from your scraps, add some little embellishments, a belt or crystal or run them thru a texture machine.I cut out some little purses and placed them on te tag openings.   I used scraps of ribbon for added texture.  Each tag was treated different....I totally inked one, I stamped one, embossed one, and added some Christmas scraps to another.  I even cut one of the dresses from Christmas paper.  Just have fun with it...you will see how carried away you will get, it is like playing with your Barbie again!.
